Twelve updated codes of practice have just come into force. These codes replace a number of existing codes that were in place under previous Occupational Health and Safety laws.

Companies will be accountable to the new requirements. Although they hold no legal obligations, they can be used as a benchmark for industry best practice and as such, may provide some weight in a WorkCover prosecution.

These revisions affect all industries; but particularly the construction, electrical and manufacturing industries.
